Dancing Fruits

Today was a lovely day. As much as I love to sleep, it was well worth getting up early to go join Cat's work people for New York Cares Day. Bright and early, we met up with Christen, Josh and Gaurav and headed up to PS 185 to help beautify New York's public schools. After having painted a lovely mural last year that said "Reading is for Winners," we were ready to get to it. This year, the painting challenge was much greater -- intricate details, teeny brushes, mixing colours -- all for the sake of dancing fruits and vegetables around the lunchroom.

Who knew painting a mushroom could be so difficult?

And oh, the lunchroom -- what a blast from the past. Fold-up bench tables, little cartons of juice. Visions of elementary school... Who else misses recess?

Another exciting thing -- I think I've found an illustrator for my first children's book. Yay! Now all I've gotta do is get down to writing it. Yippeeeee!
