Almost everyone I know who's in a relationship is either:
a) getting engaged/married; or
b) breaking up.
Boo. And the sucky thing is that most times, b) is for reasons of circumstance like location/career, etc.
Another reason why I stick to my point that relationships more often than not have to be about "seeing how things go."
Sigh.

you know, part of a relationship is growing together and building a life together. I think you will see a natural tendency to change the "terms" of the relationship as people change from one stage of life to another (ie. school -> work, distance, etc.)
Life can be tough sometimes and relationships are what can get you through the toughest parts, isn't it great to be able to lean on someone dearest to your heart?
On the other hand, when relationships become a point of contention and is making your life difficult, there are few things more painful and frustrating.
Anyways, my two cents.
