Ode to Cat

i once came upon a very cool cat
she was hip, she was smooth, and she was very fond of hats --
perhaps not as much as she loved a good ribbon
but in all manner of things, this cat sure was driven

whether it be studying all hours into the cold dark night
or traveling the world seeing new places and sights
this pretty little feline knew what she wanted
inventive and successful but too humble to flaunt it

ready to play at a moment's notice
kitcat as we called her was quite the seductress
with butterfly tops and... ahem! (pardon me) boots
she and her girls were no match for the suits

when they went out on the town
her fabulous ways could flip anyone's frown
now don't get me wrong, this cat wasn't a flirt
tho she did look awfully good in that little black skirt

truth be told, she was much more than another pretty face
present her a problem or a competitive case
and you would see her whip out her weapons -- her logic, her smarts
if you were lucky, you'd escape her powerpoints and charts

as businesswoman, as friend, you couldn't ask for anything more
with her wit and her charm, you would laugh until your tummy was sore
always ready and willing to listen, to talk, or to nap
just chilling with this kitty would lift your spirits in a snap

on her twenty-fourth birthday, i offer this ode
to the coolest kitty that i've ever knowed :)
my friends, my countrypeople, you may think that i jest
but believe you me, this cat is utterly, indisputably and undeniably the best
